[Korean reaction] Park Jin : We've warned Russia not to transfer missile technology to North Korea

by 2KCountries 2023. 10. 28.

On the 27th, Minister of Foreign Affairs Park Jin announced that the government has conveyed its position to Russia, stating that South Korea would not remain passive if Russia transfers missile technology to North Korea.

Foreign Minister Park Jin mentioned a hard-line response to Russia

During a comprehensive audit of the National Assembly's Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee on the same day, Representative Ha Tae-kyung of the People's Power Party asked, "Did we inform Russia that we will retaliate and not remain passive if they provide North Korea with missile or weapons technology?" Park responded affirmatively, confirming that they had communicated this to the Russian side.

Regarding a separate briefing from Russia after the North Korea-Russia summit, Park said, "We communicated with the Russian Foreign Ministry through our embassy in Russia, " adding, "During the conversation, we also requested verification from Russia regarding any technology transfer."

Park conveyed that the Russians said, "During the summit, discussions were held on various topics to promote friendship and relations between the two countries, but there were no specific details about military cooperation."

On the possibility of North Korea transferring military equipment and supplies to Russia, Park mentioned, "We are closely monitoring this through various information sources and have a grasp of the current situation."

He added, "We are continuously tracking this in cooperation with the United States," but refrained from giving further details, saying, "We ask for understanding that we cannot disclose specific information on the transported contents or any potential weapons." However, he hinted, "There are several suspicious circumstances; please understand it in this context."

Recently, the U.S. has publicly shared details about maritime container transport between North Korea and Russia. In a joint statement, the foreign ministers of South Korea, the U.S., and Japan condemned weapon trading between North Korea and Russia, taking it as an established fact that North Korea has provided weapons to Russia for use in the Ukrainian battlefield.

Do they even have the capability? What about the losses of the companies that invested in Russia?

If we handle diplomacy impulsively, our companies and expatriates in that country will lose everything. Can they take responsibility.

It's full of Chinese who seem to be dying of discomfort from the comments, lol.

What will you do if you don't lean left? You go and fight in Russia.

Tsk tsk... They're creating a needless fuss. What on earth are they relying on to act like that?
