A bit about Korean Image in Kazakhstan...

We are living in the time when one can easily get information about anything and anybody through Internet. However answers for such quenstions as "What do you think about our country?" "What image Korea has in Kazakhstan?" and etc. we can find only through our friends or some blogs or someone's experiences. Working with koreans for a long period I realized that most of them are interested about the image of Korea in Kazakhstan. Is it good or bad? What Kazakhstan people think about Koreans? What do they know about Korea and etc. 

I decided to pick out some common things about Korean image in Kazakhstan. 

First of all, I want to say that our country is multinational and multicultural country. So according to statistical data analysis there about 0,61% koreans that were forcefully moved from the Russian Far East to unpopulated areas of the Kazakh SSR and the Uzbek SSR in October 1937. But it is the part of history that I am going to share in some other topics. Due to this fact Kazakh people became very common with Korean food as kimchi (the local name is chimchi), cold noodle naengmyeon (냉면), hoe (회) and etc. There are many people who knows or even once tried boshintang (보신탕). Now in Kazakhstan, specially in Almaty there are many korean markets that provide different kinds of korean goods. 

Also it is necessary to notice that in Kazakhstan market Samsung and LG Electronics are very famouse brands as in many other countries. As well as in Korean appartments you can find Samsung TV, LG microwave, fridge and others electronic devices. 

Most of people prefer European or Japanese cars but such kinds of brands as Hyundai, KIA, SsangYong are also represented and known in our market. 

Korean wave (한류) is not so vividly manifested as in such markets as China and Taiwan but it was a boom of Korean dramas that were brodcasted on Kazakhstan TV channels and spreaded through Internet. It was a very busy time when I was working as a Freelancer in TV Channel Khabar translating dramas from Korean to Russian...kkkk

Korean cosmetics are also very popular among kazakh women and girls. 

In general many people know about Korea much more than Koreans know about Kazakhstan. Of course there are not so many those who can distinguish Korean language. 

To be honest there so many things that I want to share with...I hope to do it step by step...But I like a phrase that is using many wise people: "Take your time. Don't get in hurry". ...
