[Korean reaction] Rat Filmed Eating Beef in Chinese Hot Pot Restaurant: "Disgusting"

by 2KCountries 2023. 12. 3.

China is again facing a food hygiene issue, following the incidents of 'urine beer' and 'bat maratang'.

This time, a video has surfaced showing a rat gnawing on beef at a hot pot restaurant's workstation.

It was recently revealed that workers at Tsingtao Beer Factory 3 were urinating on ingredients

According to local media like Xinjingbao and CCTV on the 2nd (local time), the controversy started with a whistleblowing post and video uploaded on a food delivery platform on the 28th of last month.

A netizen criticized, "The meat was left unattended like this in the restaurant, it's disgusting, " exposing the sanitary conditions of the hot pot restaurant. The video shows a rat gnawing on raw beef left on the restaurant's workstation.

The video quickly spread online, prompting local authorities to investigate. The restaurant in question was identified as a hot pot chain in Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province. This chain has about 10 stores in Wenzhou City alone, known for emphasizing "beef slaughtered and sold on the same day."

Wenzhou City's Market Supervision Administration seized and disposed of the meat from the restaurant and suspended its operation. The Market Supervision Administration stated in a briefing, "We will deal with this seriously according to laws and regulations and apply a zero-tolerance policy towards actions that compromise food safety."

The hot pot chain's headquarters also sent warnings to all its stores, demanding strict disinfection measures. They also stated that they are discussing penalties for the franchise in question.

This is not the first food hygiene controversy in China. In October, a video surfaced of an employee urinating on ingredients at a Qingdao beer factory, and in November, a video emerged of a butcher in Anhui Province using his mouth to process lamb. Additionally, incidents have occurred, such as a broken needle being found in food from a university canteen and a video claiming the presence of a bat in maratang.

[Korean reaction]
--------------------

Even in the face of the Chinese ambassador's threatening remarks to South Korea, Moon Jae-in and the Democratic Party just bow their heads and listen - just the kind of thing they'd enjoy.

 ㄴ Ah, a real politician?

Please stop serving Chinese kimchi in restaurants!

ㄴ Just look at the origin label on the kimchi in restaurants. If it says it's from China, just leave.

The more I see China, the more I feel they have absolutely no sense of hygiene. Eating bats used for experiments, deliberately creating a pandemic that killed millions, I wish China would just disappear from the planet.

It'll take another 1000 years for China to become a normal country.

Toilet water drinking, naked kimchi, urine beer, bat Malatang, tooth ribs, rat beef!

Chinese tourists, please stop coming to Korea:( Another epidemic will spread :(
